Now in its fourth year, the Starz will feature three teams beginning play in the spring of 2009, with more likely to come, including the Starz 10-U Gold, 12-U Purple, and the Starz 14-U Purple ball clubs. Each team possesses its own unique identity and players with a special blend of skills and talents while sharing the common vision of placing player development, team success, and character growth as their primary mission.

The Starz began as a single 8-U team formed in May, 2006 by President Ashley Davis with players from his highly-successful West Mecklenburg 9-U team. To this group, he skillfully blended talented players from several North Charlotte associations, including Huntersville (HYAA), Mallard Creek (MCAA), and Odell (ORSA). His goal was to create a hard-hitting team showcasing great team speed and solid defense which would be ready to compete in NSA, AAU, and ASA sanctioned tournaments throughout the region. 

For 2010, the Starz plan to field three teams - the Starz 12-U Purple led by Coach Ashley, our 12-U Gold (second-year) team led by Coach Steve Foster, and our newest Starz team, the 8-U Gold led by Coach Luis Yepez.  We are also eager to add both a first-year and second-year 10-U team to play under the Starz banner.  We would consider either an existing team looking for the advantages available through our organization or possibly forming a start-up team with and for the right coach.

Starz teams are universally known for their sound fundamental defense and aggressive, opportunistic hitting. Our practices make use of traditional and cutting-edge individual and team drills devoted to basic diamond skills and concepts. Our players learn in a fast-paced, team-first environment where we strive to give them the skills, knowledge, and awareness to take their games to the highest levels. It's a fairly common sight to see our kids playing for championships on Sunday.
