Now in its fourth year, the Starz will feature three teams beginning play in the spring of 2009, with more likely to come, including the Starz 10-U Gold, 12-U Purple, and the Starz 14-U Purple ball clubs. Each team possesses its own unique identity and players with a special blend of skills and talents while sharing the common vision of placing player development, team success, and character growth as their primary mission.

The Starz began as a single 8-U team formed in May, 2006 by President Ashley Davis with players from his highly-successful West Mecklenburg 9-U team. To this group, he skillfully blended talented players from several North Charlotte associations, including Huntersville (HYAA), Mallard Creek (MCAA), and Odell (ORSA). His goal was to create a hard-hitting team showcasing great team speed and solid defense which would be ready to compete in NSA, AAU, and ASA sanctioned tournaments throughout the region. 

In the spring of 2007, the Starz formed its second team, our inaugural Starz 10-U Purple club. Steve Foster, vice president and treasurer for the Starz Organization, took over as head coach of this team late in the spring of 2007 and continues his leadership with tremendous support from Coach John Big Daddy Johnson. The Starz growth continued in August, 2007 when Coach Ron Sprague's team began play in the fall as our Starz 12-U Gold team.
 
 
Starz teams are universally known for their sound fundamental defense and aggressive, opportunistic hitting. Our practices make use of traditional and cutting-edge individual and team drills devoted to basic diamond skills and concepts. Our players learn in a fast-paced, team-first environment where we strive to give them the skills, knowledge, and awareness to take their games to the highest levels. It's a fairly common sight to see our kids playing for championships on Sunday.
